Days out

Enjoying the Outdoors – A muddy #WalkWithWynsors

#WalkWithWynsors

We were invited to attend #WalkWithWynsors

#WalkWithWynsors is about getting families outdoors, being outdoors is such an important part of childhood. Sometimes it can be very unappealing to brave the elements, the right clothes and footwear can make the experience a lot more pleasant.

Wynsors provided the kids with some wellies, Josh opted for some Spiderman wellies(a bargain at only £9), Kate decided on a Paw Patrol pair(only £8) and finally for Megan we selected a cute little pair with a cat design.

The day started off with much doubt in our minds as to whether this was a good idea, as we travelled towards Bingley we went through some snow and some freezing temperatures, surprisingly the weather in Bingley was a lot better.

After putting on our gloves, hats, coats and wellies we met up with the other bloggers and our hosts.

Our walk

Wynsors partnered with the “Canal & River Trust” and “Bingley Walkers are Welcome” to make the walk a success, and a success it was!

Cedric, our guide from Bingley Walkers are Welcome welcomed us to Bingley. Cedric gave us a brief overview over the walk. Afterwards, Charlotte of the Canal and River trust handed out some synthroid without rx goody bags, they contained the all-important duck food(oats). Charlotte explained that ducks shouldn’t be fed bread but rather things like vegetables and oats. Bread tends to pollute the water attracting rats and making algae grow at a much faster rate.

The puddles seemed to draw Josh and Kate like a moth to a flame, they made sure to take every chance to have a jump.

It didn’t take us long to reach the 5 rise locks even with all the stops for puddle jumping!

The weather took a turn for the worse and Cedric decided on a change to the route.

Lunch was served at the delightful and quirky Potting shed.

We would like to thank Wynsors for inviting us to join them on the walk. It was a good day despite the weather. Which just goes to show, with the right clothes and footwear, you can still get out and enjoy the outdoors. We are planning on returning to Bingley next year to complete the walk with the grandparents.
